Internet Archive に昔の PodCast の削除を要求した
残す価値のない Podcast
貴重な情報がいつの間にか消えてしまうインターネットでは、Internet Archive に代表されるアーカイブプロジェクトが非常に有用です。しかし、時には残しておきたくないものまでアーカイブされてしまいます。
私には以前少しだけ運営していたポッドキャストが有りました。
配信元の Anchor、登録先の ApplePodcast や himalaya などからは削除を行ったのですが、何故か wayback Machine にアーカイブをされていました。
このポッドキャストは残しておく価値が有りません。何らかのルートで辿り着かれると少し恥ずかしくもあります。なので削除を試みることにしました。
削除の方法
削除はそのページを所有している（いた）人でないと依頼が出来ないようです。
所有を明確に証明できないとアーカイブの削除に応じてもらえず削除に失敗するという記事が沢山でてくるので、半ば諦め気味で削除をお願いしました。
所有の証明に有効な例
- サイトにオーナーメールアドレスを記載し、そのアドレスから削除依頼を送る
- サイトに記載した Twitter、Adsense などのアカウント ID を送る
今回使用した物
今回アーカイブされていたアイテムはページそのものではなく、Podcast をメディア・コンテンツとして独自に保存しているようなものでした。
Internet Archive Search: creatorにそれぞれのエピソードが整理されてアーカイブされていました。
個別のアイテムページにはアーカイブされた Podcast の情報や、実際に聞ける mp3 ファイルなどがアーカイブされています。情報だけなら残しておいてもよいのですが、音声が実際に聞けてしまうのは問題です。
このページに情報が詳細に記載されていたのが幸いでした。
Podcast_urlに記載されている'https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/*******' は、Apple Podcast の番組個別の URL です。番組を作成した際に iTunes Store からこの URL が記載されているメールが送られて来ていました。

所有が証明できる唯一の情報であったため、この情報を添付して削除を依頼することにします。
ただ、itunes.apple.com 自体は apple 所有です。その場を借りて作成したからと言って番組の所有を主張できるかは非常に不安でした。

音沙汰がまったくないので以前送ったメールを再送します。
送り先メールアドレスがサイトに載っているものとは異なる場合が有るそうです。これでも音沙汰がなければ違うアドレスを探してみようと思います。

無事消えたが、削除ではなさそう
世界中から膨大なリクエストが有ると思いますが、対応していただけたことに感謝します。
has been disabledと書かれていることから、削除ではなく表示の無効化が行われているのだと思います。そこはちょっと不満です。
最後に
アーカイブは利用側からするととてもありがたいプロジェクトですが、作成者からするととてもおせっかいなプロジェクトです。
サイトを作成する際は、メールアドレスや SNS アカウントなどを運営者情報として記載して置きましょう。
今は消すつもりがなくても、将来消したくなった場合にスムーズに削除依頼を出すことが出来ます。
